Research that makes vaccines possible
Twenty-five years ago, a College of Medicine researcher discovered neutralizing monoclonal antibodies for the human papillomavirus (HPV), which led to the development of the original HPV vaccine. The antibodies are still being used by vaccine manufacturers to quality control test vaccines. Dr. Neil Christensen life’s work has resulted in several vaccines being developed and commercialized.
